Where downtime is to be minimised or eliminated on the project, Synertec implement a project approach that considers the following:
- Detailed audit and understanding of the existing system
- Development of design documentation that considers the integration between the existing and updated system
- Development of a changeover strategy. The changeover strategy includes testing requirements, cutover approach and a fall back strategy
- Creation of a “thin slice” initial project to test the cutover strategy
Upgrades and integration to existing plant often has to occur with limited or no downtime to the plant. When these projects occur, Synertec implement an approach that considers the risks associated with such an upgrade.
